Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist
Location: Multiple, throughout IL
Department: Clinic (Reception area)
Seeking a welcoming, compassionate and organized medical front desk receptionist to join our growing healthcare team. Will be working at one of our medical offices and provide assistance to our patients and other visitors. Responsible for corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of our office, and ensuring that our environment is welcoming for patients and their families.
Welcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or on the phone
Answer the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
Confirm appointments for the next day
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by obtaining personal and financial information
Schedule appointments for patients
Verify patient insurance eligibility
Collect copay and/or patient balances
Request referrals and authorizations from patients insurance / PCP
Facilitate patient flow
Keep medical office supplies adequately stocked
Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
Basic Life Support Certificate
Strong written and oral communication
Knowledge of EHRs
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
High school diploma; some college preferred
Medical assistant certification (if applicable)
Must be able to travel
Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and read information from printed sources and computer screens. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize their daily responsibilities.
