Job Title: Operating Room (OR) Technician

Location: Multiple, throughout IL

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, an operating room (OR) technician assists physicians and surgical staff before, during and after a medical procedure by preparing the operating room, arranging medical equipment in order and working alongside nurses and anesthesiologists. The individual also assists with reporting and inventory associated with each procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepares all documents needed for procedure (HP, labs and exams)

  • Prepares operating room per standard and arranges equipment as needed

  • Ensures all supplies and equipment needed for procedures are available and working

  • Transports patient to the OR and positions him/her on the procedure table

  • Assists in getting supplies needed for procedures

  • Prepares and disposes lab specimens

  • Transports patients from OR to recovery

  • Turns OR over and preps for subsequent procedures

  • Tracks supplies used for each case

  • Assists in procedure notes

  • Follows up with patients next day symptoms

  • Schedules patient for post op. visits if needed

  • Works alongside inventory manager to order supplies needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified as a OR technician preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy

  • Basic Life Support certificate

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including grammar usage, spelling, and punctuation

  • Knowledge of EHRs

Job Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

Location: Multiple, throughout IL

Department: Clinic

Shift/Hours: Day (8:30a-5:00p) Hrs may vary

SUMMARY:

The person in this role primarily assist the physician, PA and performs duties such as managing patient records, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintains the front desk area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Using computer applications

  • Greeting patients

  • Check patients in and out

  • Verify patient’s insurance eligibility

  • Collect co-pay / balance from patient

  • Updating patient medical records

  • Scheduling appointments 

  • Arranging for laboratory services

  • Request authorizations / referrals

  • Confirm appointments

  • Answer telephone calls, take hospital consults and taking messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls

Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart

  • Record history and physical, review of system, medications and allergies in EMR

Job Title: Patient Scheduler

Location: Multiple, throughout IL

Department: Scheduling

Shift/Hours: Day (8:00a-5:00p)

SUMMARY:

The person in this role schedules clinic and procedure appointments for patients.  The position coordinates inpatient and outpatient procedures and obtains insurance benefits authorizations or pre-determinations from medical insurance companies for patients’ procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Pre-registers patients utilizing the scheduling system by accurately collecting patient and insurance information

  • Obtains insurance benefit information and eligibly for patients

  • Schedules all inpatient and outpatient diagnostic procedures and appointments as ordered by the patient’s physician or authorized designee

  • Demonstrates proper phone etiquette and responds accurately using medical terminology and procedure information

  • Uses active listening skills and ensures all patient calls are handled in a professional and expedient fashion

  • Prioritizes work to ensure all details are addressed and proper documentation is input into system

  • Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality

  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting MIMIT’s values by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner

  • Delivers excellent customer service and/or patient care in a manner that is timely, efficient and accurate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year(s) of scheduling experience (preferably in a medical setting)

  • Understanding of medical terminology and medical insurance plans

  • Basic keyboarding skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, experience using computers and mobile devices; and the ability and willingness to learn new technologies/software

  • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) or workflow management software, such as Salesforce.

Job Title: OR X-Ray Tech

Location: Chicago, IL and Glen Ellyn, IL

SUMMARY:

As a Radiology tech, you would balance the needs of patients and maintain efficient work flow of the office as well as provide support to the physician during medical procedures. In addition, you would ensure that the patient has an excellent service experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Operating Vascular Ziehm RFD C-Arm during peripheral arterial diagnostic and treatment procedures in a premier office-based lab. 

  • Assists physicians in the treatment of vascular disease within a sterile environment along with minimally invasive treatments of the spine, fibroids, dialysis care, and etc.

  • Maintain facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. 

  • Responsible for transferring DICOM images to PACS system. 

  • Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular daily basis

  • Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area, make exposures, and assists physician during fluoro exam

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability in performing the following procedures:Cerebral and carotid Angiogram, extremity and pelvis Angiogram, femoral run-off, aortic arch, subtraction, injection factors, and catheter usage

  • Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time, distance and shielding

  • Successfully completes requested cross training and demonstrates an ability to perform in every function in the cath lab area within designated scope of practice

 REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum one year of Interventional / Vascular Radiology Experience required 

  • Technical/Professional Training/Degree as a Radiologic Technologist (Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or eligible)

  • Cultural sensitivity and excellent patient care skills. 

  • Ability to work well in a high volume, fast paced environment. 

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work as part of a team

  • Must be willing to rotate to other off site locations

  • Radiation exposure

  • Must be able to deal with ill patients

  • Ability to lift and/or move patients

  • Heavy lifting: lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly
